Overview
The NX-6 and its later revision the NX-6V2 are the small-to-mid panels in the Caddx NetworX family, later sold under the GE and Interlogix names. They suit a typical house: six zones on the board, room to grow to 16, and two partitions if, say, a garage or an in-law unit needs to arm separately.
At a glance
| Zones | 6 on the board; up to 12 hardwired or 16 wireless (16 in total) |
|---|---|
| Partitions | 2 |
| Users | Up to 40 |
| Expansion | Up to 16 keypads and 3 other modules; NX-148E-RF keypads include a wireless receiver |
| Power | 16.5 V AC, 40 or 50 VA transformer |
| Kit | NX-6V2-KIT: panel, NX-108E LED keypad, 16.5 V 40 VA transformer |
If you have more than 16 zones, look at the NX-8 / NX-8V2 (48 zones) or the NX-8E (192 zones). They take the same keypads and sensors.

Error Codes
The NX-6 uses the NetworX Service light. Press * 2 and read zone lights 1 to 8:
- System fault
- Zone tamper
- Wireless low battery
- Wireless supervision loss
- Zone trouble
- Phone fault
- Failure to communicate
- Loss of time
Each is explained in the NetworX service light guide.
Troubleshooting
Service light and beeping after a power cut
Enter your code to silence the keypad. The usual cause is light 8, a lost clock. Press * 9 7, the master code, then the time as four digits in 24-hour format (for example, 2:15 PM is 1 4 1 5).
Cannot arm: Ready light off
A zone is open. The zone light flashing slowly shows which one. Close it, or bypass it: press Bypass, the zone number, then Bypass again, and # to finish. See alarm not ready to arm.
Smoke or zone trouble that won't clear
While disarmed, press * 7. This resets smoke detectors, zone troubles and tampers.

Installation Notes
- Default codes: master (user 1)
1234; go to program code9713. - Program mode: press * 8, enter the go to program code, then 0 # for the panel.
- After leaving program mode, the panel spends about 12 seconds enrolling keypads and modules; wait before testing.
- The bus takes up to 16 keypads but only three other modules (receiver, zone expander, communicator and so on). Count modules before you plan an upgrade. An NX-148E-RF keypad gives you a wireless receiver without using a module slot.
FAQs
Are the NX-6 and NX-6V2 the same panel?
The NX-6V2 is the later revision of the NX-6, with the same 16-zone, 2-partition capacity and the same keypads. The NX-6V2 manuals linked above are the best reference for either.
