Overview
The VISTA-15P is the entry-level member of Honeywell's VISTA-P family, built for single homes that do not need separate areas. It uses the same keypads, wireless sensors, communicators, and programming method as the VISTA-20P, with less capacity.
VISTA-15P vs VISTA-20P
| VISTA-15P | VISTA-20P | |
|---|---|---|
| On-board hardwired zones | 6 | 8 |
| Partitions | 1 | 2 |
| Keypads, wireless, communicators | Same families on both | |
If you run out of zones or need a second partition (for example a detached shop armed separately), the VISTA-20P is a drop-in upgrade: the wiring and keypads carry over, and the board must be reprogrammed.
Default installer code: 4112.
Error Codes
The VISTA-15P shows the same keypad messages as other VISTA panels: CHECK, BAT, AC LOSS, FC, dI, OC, and FAULT. See the VISTA-20P message table and what CHECK means.
Troubleshooting
Running out of zones
With six on-board zones, older installs often doubled up several doors on one zone. That works, but the keypad cannot tell you which door is open. Splitting them needs either spare zones on an expander or a move to the VISTA-20P.
Common problems
- Beeping and BAT: see replacing the backup battery or sensor low battery.
- FC after dropping a landline: add an AlarmNet cellular communicator; see VISTA LTE communicators.
- Will not arm: see alarm won't arm.

Installation Notes
Programming is identical to the rest of the family: installer code + 8 0 0, exit with *99. See VISTA installer programming and user codes. Keypads must be set to an address the panel has enabled, starting at 16.
FAQs
Is the VISTA-15P worth keeping?
If it covers your doors and windows and you add a modern communicator, yes. Replace it when you need more zones, a second partition, or features its keypads cannot give you.
