Overview
The Lyric Controller (LCP500-L in the US, LCP500-LC in Canada) is Honeywell's touchscreen all-in-one panel that followed the Lynx Touch. It adds built-in Wi-Fi and support for Honeywell's encrypted, two-way SiX wireless sensors, while still working with older 5800-series sensors.
At a glance
| Type | All-in-one touchscreen panel |
|---|---|
| Sensors | SiX series (encrypted, two-way) and 5800-series |
| Communication | Built-in Wi-Fi; LYRICLTE plug-in cellular module |
| Keypad | LKP500 SiX wireless keypad |
| Backup battery | LCP500-4B (4-hour) or LCP500-24B (24-hour) |
| Default codes | Installer 4112, master 1234 |
Resideo's newer ProSeries panels have since replaced the Lyric for new installs, but Lyric systems remain common and fully serviceable.
Error Codes
Troubles appear on screen with the device involved. For AC loss, low battery, supervision, and communication alerts, see Lynx and Lyric troubles. A Lyric-specific one: Wi-Fi disconnected after a router change. Reconnect from the panel's Wi-Fi settings.
Troubleshooting
No cellular backup
Without a LYRICLTE-A / LYRICLTE-V (or LYRICLTE-C in Canada), the Lyric depends entirely on Wi-Fi. A power or internet outage then cuts off monitoring. Adding the LTE module is the most valuable upgrade for most Lyric owners.
Battery goes low quickly
The standard pack gives a few hours of standby. If outages are common where you live, fit the 24-hour pack. A pack that drops to low within minutes of losing AC needs replacing.
A SiX sensor will not enroll
SiX devices enroll differently from 5800 sensors: the panel and sensor exchange encryption keys. Bring the sensor close to the panel for enrollment, then mount it.
Compatible Peripherals
- Keypads: LKP500-EN, LKP500-ENC (Canada).
- Cellular: LYRICLTE-A, LYRICLTE-V, LYRICLTE-C.
- Batteries: LCP500-4B, LCP500-24B.
- Sensors: SiX series and 5800-series.
Installation Notes
- Mount on its wall plate or the LCP500-DK desk stand, near the middle of the home.
- Connect Wi-Fi during setup and confirm the monitoring company receives signals before relying on it.
- LKP500 keypads are wireless SiX devices; they enroll like sensors.
- Programming uses the installer code (default
4112). See installer vs master codes.
FAQs
Can I reuse my old 5800 sensors with a Lyric?
Yes. The Lyric works with 5800-series sensors as well as SiX. SiX adds encryption and two-way supervision.
Does the Lyric work without the internet?
It keeps protecting the house locally. To reach the monitoring company without internet it needs the LYRICLTE cellular module.
