Short answer
Lynx and Lyric panels show troubles on screen with the zone or device involved. AC loss means the plug-in power supply is unplugged or the outlet is dead; low battery is either the panel's internal battery or a wireless sensor; a communication trouble usually means the cellular or Wi-Fi module lost its connection. Older 3G/GSM modules stopped working in 2022 and need replacing with the LTE module for your panel.

Which panel do you have?
- Lynx Plus (L3000): small panel with physical buttons and a basic display.
- Lynx Touch (L5100, L5200, L5210, L7000): touchscreen all-in-one panels; the L7000 has the larger screen.
- Lyric Controller (LCP500): the newer 7-inch touchscreen, often paired with the LKP500 Lyric keypad.
The model is on a label on the back of the panel. Lift it off its wall plate to see it.
Reading and clearing troubles
- Touch the trouble icon or message on screen to see which zone or device is involved.
- Fix the cause (below).
- Acknowledge it by entering your user code when the panel asks.
Sensor troubles follow the same rules as any wireless system. See sensor low battery and false alarms.
AC loss and panel battery
- AC loss: these panels run from a small plug-in transformer, often in a nearby outlet or a closet. Check it is plugged in and the outlet is live. Lynx Touch power cables can work loose at the panel end; see the LT-CABLE.
- Panel low battery: the internal battery pack is model-specific. Lyric uses the LCP500-4B (4-hour) or LCP500-24B (24-hour) pack. Lynx panels use their own replacement packs; order by panel model rather than a generic battery.
Communication troubles and module upgrades
These panels talk to the monitoring company through a plug-in module. If yours was a 3G or GSM module, it stopped working when carriers retired 3G in 2022. Replacements, by panel:
| Panel | LTE cellular module | Internet |
|---|---|---|
| Lynx Plus L3000 | LTE-L3A (AT&T), LTE-L3V (Verizon) | — |
| Lynx Touch L5210, L7000 | LTE-L57A (AT&T), LTE-L57V (Verizon) | L5100-WiFi |
| Lyric LCP500 | LYRICLTE-A, LYRICLTE-V, LYRICLTE-C (Bell) | Built-in Wi-Fi |
As with VISTA communicators, these report through Resideo AlarmNet and must be activated on a dealer's account. Pick AT&T or Verizon based on signal where the panel hangs. For VISTA wired panels, see VISTA LTE communicators.
Wi-Fi changed
If the panel uses Wi-Fi and you replaced your router or changed the password, the panel loses its internet path. Reconnect it from the panel's Wi-Fi settings, which are in the installer or master menus depending on model and firmware.
Codes
The factory default installer code on Lynx and Lyric is 4112, and the default master code is 1234, though your installer may have changed both. See installer and master codes.
