Overview

The Lynx Touch L5210 is an all-in-one Honeywell wireless security panel: touchscreen, siren, speaker, wireless receiver, and backup battery in one wall-mounted unit. Sensors are Honeywell 5800-series wireless, and it reports to the monitoring company through a plug-in cellular or Wi-Fi module.

The L5210-24 version ships with a 24-hour backup battery instead of the standard one. The L7000 is the higher-end model in the same family and uses the same modules.

Error Codes

The L5210 shows troubles on screen with the device or zone name. The common ones:

  • AC loss: the plug-in transformer is unplugged, or the outlet is off.
  • Low battery (system): the internal backup battery is weak; replace the pack if it does not recover after a day on AC.
  • Low battery or supervision (zone): a wireless sensor needs a battery or is out of range. See sensor low battery.
  • Communication failure: the cellular or Wi-Fi module cannot reach the network. See below.

Troubleshooting

Communication failure that never clears

If the panel's cellular module is an older GSM/3G model, it stopped working when US carriers retired 3G in 2022. Replace it with an LTE-L57A (AT&T) or LTE-L57V (Verizon), activated by your monitoring company on AlarmNet.

Wi-Fi stopped working after a new router

The L5100-WiFi module keeps the old network name and password. Reconnect it from the panel's Wi-Fi settings (installer menu on most firmware), or ask your alarm company to do it.

The screen is dark or unresponsive

Check the power cable at the back of the panel; it can work loose when the panel is lifted off its wall plate. If the panel only runs on battery, the screen dims to save power.

Installation Notes

  • Mount the panel centrally; it is also the wireless receiver, so distance to the furthest sensors matters.
  • Use an outlet that cannot be switched off for the transformer.
  • The communication module plugs into the panel's internal connector. Power the panel down before installing it.
  • Put the account on test before lifting the panel off its back plate; that trips its tamper.

FAQs

Will my Lynx Touch still work after the 3G shutdown?

The panel itself keeps protecting the house, but if its module was 3G it can no longer reach the monitoring company. An LTE-L57 module restores it.

Can the L5210 use other brands' sensors?

No. It uses Honeywell 5800-series wireless devices.
