Overview
The NX-148E is the text (LCD) keypad for Caddx NetworX panels: the NX-4, NX-6, NX-8 and NX-8E. Where the LED keypads show troubles as lit zone numbers, the NX-148E spells them out on a 32-character display. That makes it the easiest keypad for reading troubles, zone names and the event log. It has nine status lights and a built-in sounder.
The NX-148E-RF is the same keypad with a 48-zone wireless receiver built in.

Reading the event log
Press * 9 0 and the master code. The newest event shows first; use the arrow keys to go back and forward. Each entry shows the event, date, 24-hour time, user or zone number, and partition. An asterisk marks an event that was not reported to the central station. The log is the quickest way to see what happened during an alarm or a trouble.

Press * 9 1 and the master code. Adjust the viewing angle with the arrow keys, press * for brightness, and * again to finish.
Compatible Peripherals
- Panels: NX-4, NX-6 / NX-6V2, NX-8 / NX-8V2, NX-8E.
- Related keypads: NX-148E-RF (with receiver); LED keypads NX-108E and NX-116E.
Installation Notes
- The keypad connects to the panel's four-wire keypad bus. Each keypad needs its own address so the panel can supervise it. The NX-8E manual recommends partition 1, keypad 1 for the first LCD keypad.
- After adding or readdressing keypads, enter and exit program mode so the panel enrolls them.
- Zone descriptions typed in at one LCD keypad can be copied to the others. The NX-8E manual gives the sequence * 9 2, installer code, 1 # #, Exit; the text appears on the other keypads after about 30 seconds.
FAQs
How do I get rid of "Service Required" on an NX-148E?
Press * 2 to read the message, then fix the cause. The most common is Loss of time after a power cut, cleared by setting the clock with * 9 7. Others, like a low battery or a lost wireless zone, clear once the problem is fixed.
Can an NX-148E replace an LED keypad?
Yes. It works on any NetworX panel bus, but give it an address and enter and exit programming so the panel enrolls it.
