Overview

The NX-595E connects a Caddx NetworX panel to the internet over Ethernet. It was the manufacturer's answer to disappearing landlines. It can send alarms to a central station over IP instead of the phone line, or use the phone line only as a backup. It also gives the owner app control through UltraSync, and can email alarm and trouble events to up to three addresses.

At a glance

Compatible panelsNetworX V2 family: NX-4, NX-6, NX-8, NX-8E
ConnectionEthernet (RJ45) to your router; three wires (POS, COM, DATA) to the panel's keypad bus

Before relying on it: ask your monitoring company whether they still accept NX-595E signals and whether UltraSync service is available for your account. The product line has changed owners since these modules were sold.

Troubleshooting

The web page stopped opening

The router probably gave the module a new IP address after a restart. Look it up again from the keypad (* 8, program code, 1 9 1 #, 2 1 #). Skip the defaulting step this time. Reserving the address in the router's DHCP settings stops it changing.

No IP address at all

Check the Ethernet cable and the router port. If the router does not hand out addresses automatically, the network settings must be entered manually; the manual's Appendix 1 has the keypad worksheets.

The app won't connect

Check that the Web Access Passcode is set in Network Settings and matches the one in the app. Also check that the serial number in the app matches the module's label.

Service or communication trouble after a router change

The module needs a working internet connection to report. After replacing a router, plug the module into the new router and look up its IP address again. If the panel still shows a communication failure, ask the monitoring company to send a test signal.

Installation Notes

Installing

  1. Power down the panel (AC and battery).
  2. Mount the module in the NetworX cabinet and wire POS, COM and DATA to the panel's bus.
  3. Run an Ethernet cable from the module to your router. The router normally gives it an IP address automatically (DHCP).
  4. Note the 12-digit serial number from the module's label. The UltraSync app needs it.
  5. Power the panel back up.

Enrolling it and finding its IP address

From an LCD or LED keypad:

  1. Press * 8 and enter the panel's program code.
  2. Enter 1 9 1 # to select the NX-595E (device 191).
  3. First time only: 9 1 0 # to load its defaults.
  4. Enter 2 1 # to show the IP address. Press * to step through each part and write it down (for example 192.168.1.2).
  5. Press Exit twice. Leaving program mode enrolls the module.

Logging in to the web page

On a computer or phone on the same network, type the module's IP address into a browser. Sign in with:

  • Username: installer (case sensitive; can be changed later)
  • Password: the NetworX panel's program code (factory default 9713, but usually changed by the installer)

The minimum setup is the time zone and daylight saving (Feature Setup), IP reporting (if monitored), and a Web Access Passcode (Network Settings). The UltraSync app will not connect until that passcode is set. Logging in as the installer does not let you program the panel itself.

Adding it to the UltraSync app

Install UltraSync, tap the plus sign to add a site, and enter the module's serial number, the Web Access Passcode, and user 1's name and PIN. Then change the default user name and PIN under More → Users. Email alerts are set up under More → Email.

FAQs

What is the NX-595E login?

Username installer (case sensitive). The password is the NetworX panel's program code, which is 9713 from the factory but is usually changed by the installer.

Does the NX-595E work with an NX-4?

Yes, though the zone doubling on the module's two inputs is not available on the NX-4. Also note the NX-4 takes only one module besides keypads.
