Overview
The 2GIG Edge is the touchscreen panel that followed the GC3 in Nortek's 2GIG line. Like the GC3, it is sold through security dealers and usually monitored through Alarm.com, with a plug-in LTE cell radio. It adds more zones, Smart Areas (partitions) and Wi-Fi remote keypads.

Troubleshooting
Cellular communication trouble
Check the signal reading in the panel. In basements, metal buildings or rural areas, an attic antenna usually fixes it. If the signal is fine, the dealer can check that the radio is active on their Alarm.com account. See 2GIG cell radio problems; the same checks apply to the Edge.
Remote keypad shows disconnected
The keypad depends on Wi-Fi or the panel's access point. After a router change, reconnect the keypad and the panel to the new network. If the keypad is far from the panel, move it closer or improve Wi-Fi coverage.
Sensor troubles
Low battery, supervision and tamper alerts work like those on the GC3. See sensor low battery and not ready to arm.

Sensors
The Edge works with 2GIG's 345 MHz wireless family: the older unencrypted sensors used with the GC2 and GC3, and the encrypted eSeries devices (part numbers ending in E). Examples in the catalog:
- Door/window: DW10e thin contact, DW20e recessed
- Environmental: SMKT8e smoke/heat/freeze, FT1e flood and temperature, TILT1e garage tilt
- Remotes: KEY2e key fob, PANIC1e
- Range and takeover: RPTR1e repeater, TAKE1e wired takeover module
Other accessories
- ANT5XL attic antenna for weak cellular signal (shared with the GC3).
- Edge desktop stand for table mounting.
Installation Notes
- Mount the panel above ground level and centrally. Below-grade locations cut wireless range.
- Use an outlet that isn't controlled by a light switch.
- The wall anchor doubles as the wall tamper, so it must be anchored for the tamper to work.
- Connect the backup battery before plugging in AC power.
- In the US, fit the power supply retaining bracket (required by the National Electrical Code).
- For a weak cellular signal, plan an attic antenna rather than moving the panel somewhere inconvenient.
Pairing an EDGE remote keypad
The remote keypad (2GIG-EDG-RK) talks to the panel over a network, not over the sensor radio. It connects either directly to the panel's built-in access point or through your home Wi-Fi.
- Mount and power the keypad: battery first, then AC.
- Connect the panel and the keypad to the same wireless network, or use the panel's access point.
- In the panel's installer programming, add the keypad and choose Pair Keypad. The panel listens for the keypad.
- Give it a voice descriptor if you want one, and finish.
Up to eight remote keypads can be paired. Typical range from the panel is about 100 ft.

2GIG 345 MHz sensors, including the encrypted eSeries, are supported on the Edge. Enroll them into the new panel, and check any unusual devices with your dealer first.
How many keypads can the Edge have?
