Overview

Honeywell Lynx self-contained wireless panels (L3000, L5210, L7000) combine a control board, keypad, and built-in 5800 Series receiver in one enclosure for compact residential installs.

The panel is the brain of the Honeywell system: it supervises wired and wireless zones, drives bell/siren outputs, manages automation on supported models, and reports to Total Connect 2.0 via AlarmNet when a compatible communicator is installed. Installers program zones, user codes, and dialer options with the installer code (and Compass/downloader on VISTA); end users arm/disarm from keypads, keyfobs, or Total Connect 2.0.

What This Panel Does Well

Coordinates intrusion zones, automation, user codes, and central station reporting when cell and monitoring are configured.

Before You Service or Replace One

  • Exact panel model — VISTA vs Lynx vs ProSeries vs Lyric — firmware and modules differ.
  • Encryption — SiX vs 5800 Series sensors in the field.
  • Cell module SKU — Total Connect 2.0 vs ADC vs SecureNet vs Telus.
  • Installer code — required for zone changes; document before service.
  • Total Connect 2.0 dealer — account status, plan, and remote programming access.

Compatible Peripherals

This page lists Honeywell Home ecosystem compatibility — panels, transceivers, repeaters, and monitoring platforms — not third-party panel brands unless using an approved takeover path.

Host compatibility

Host / ecosystemHow it connects
5800 Series sensorsNative wireless enrollment
Lynx LTE modulesAlarmNet / Total Connect path
SiX sensorsNot on legacy Lynx — verify model-specific compatibility

Not compatible / common mistakes

  • Assuming VISTA ECP expander wiring on Lynx without model-specific guides
  • Full VISTA zone counts on Lynx SKU — verify panel limits

Replacement guidance

  • Match SKU and encryption generation on product label before ordering.
  • Delete old zone/device in installer programming before enrolling replacement.
  • Document zone number and name for user and central station records.
  • Run walk test and communication test after swap on monitored accounts.
