Core hardware limits
- On-board hardwired zones: 8
- Total wireless zone support: 16 to 128, model and configuration dependent
- Combined zone architecture: up to 8 hardwired on board plus supported wireless and expander zones
- Corbus output for modules and keypads: 700 mA AUX budget
- Access code capacity: up to 1002 user/access codes
Module and keypad capacity
| Expansion type | HS2016 | HS2032 | HS2064 | HS2128 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HSM2108 hardwired zone expanders | 1 | 3 | 7 | 15 |
| HSM2208 PGM expanders | 2 | 4 | 8 | 16 |
| Wireless keypads | 8 | 8 | 8 | 16 |
Compatibility note
- PowerSeries Neo is not compatible with legacy PowerSeries modules such as PK5500 and RF5132.
- If those parts are present on an existing account, plan for replacement with Neo-compatible keypads and receivers before migration.
Error Codes
Use panel trouble display and event memory to isolate the issue before replacing hardware.
Trouble first steps
- Confirm AC and battery state at the panel.
- Check keypad trouble display and partition assignment.
- Verify Corbus voltage and polarity on distant modules.
- Inspect module enrollment state after bus corrections.
Common field trouble patterns
| Symptom | Likely cause | Corrective action |
|---|---|---|
| Missing module after power cycle | Corbus voltage drop or miswire | Verify +/-, Y, G continuity and address/enrollment |
| Intermittent bus trouble | Long cable run, undersized cable, overloaded AUX | Measure voltage under load and rebalance AUX draw |
| Zone expander not stable | Low voltage at HSM2108/HSM2300 location | Correct run length, wire gauge, and power distribution |
| Wireless enrollment failures | Receiver/keypad assignment issue | Recheck wireless enrollment and partition mapping |
| Repeating communicator trouble | Transport path or account mismatch | Validate communicator programming and supervision |
Bus low-voltage focus (HSM2108 / HSM2300)
- Field symptom often appears as dropouts, missing modules, or unstable troubles.
- Measure panel-side bus voltage and module-side bus voltage while system is under normal load.
- If module-side voltage falls outside expected operating range, shorten run, increase wire gauge, or redistribute powered devices.
Escalation checklist
- Capture keypad trouble condition.
- Record module model and address.
- Record loaded AUX devices on Corbus.
- Record whether alternate communicator hardware is installed.
