Honeywell Home VISTA-250BPT VISTA® Light Commercial Partitioned Burglary Alarm Panel Installation Notes

Honeywell VISTA wired control panels (VISTA-15P, 20P, 21iP, 128FB, 250FB, 32FB, and related) supervise hardwired zones, ECP keypads, optional 5800 Series wireless receivers, and AlarmNet / Total Connect 2.0 communicators for professional monitoring.

The panel is the brain of the Honeywell system: it supervises wired and wireless zones, drives bell/siren outputs, manages automation on supported models, and reports to Total Connect 2.0 via AlarmNet when a compatible communicator is installed. Installers program zones, user codes, and dialer options with the installer code (and Compass/downloader on VISTA); end users arm/disarm from keypads, keyfobs, or Total Connect 2.0.

Pre-install checklist

• Confirm panel model (VISTA/Lynx/ProSeries/Lyric) and encryption requirements.
• Verify dealer cell account and module SKU before cell install.
• Document installer code and existing zone map for takeover jobs.
• Plan antenna routing (ANT5XL) when panel location has poor cell RSSI.
• Have listed batteries and tools for sensor mounts before enrollment.

Typical install sequence

1. Mount and power panel; apply firmware updates per dealer bulletin.
2. Install cell module and run communication test / Total Connect 2.0 activation.
3. Enroll wireless sensors via installer Learn mode; label zones.
4. Include Z-Wave devices after excluding from any prior hub.
5. Install 5800RP repeater or optimize receiver placement before fringe 5800 sensors.
6. Run walk test, user code training, and central station test if monitored.

VISTA placement

• Mount panel central to wireless sensor layout — not buried in basement corner if sensors are upstairs.
• Route LTE antenna per module guide — attic ANT5XL when internal RSSI is weak.
• Connect AC power before enrolling many sensors; verify battery charges.
• Complete installer programming (zone definitions, dialer, cell module) before user handoff.
