Core hardware limits
- On-board hardwired zones: 8
- Total wireless zone support: 16 to 128, model and configuration dependent
- Combined zone architecture: up to 8 hardwired on board plus supported wireless and expander zones
- Corbus output for modules and keypads: 700 mA AUX budget
- Access code capacity: up to 1002 user/access codes
Module and keypad capacity
| Expansion type | HS2016 | HS2032 | HS2064 | HS2128 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HSM2108 hardwired zone expanders | 1 | 3 | 7 | 15 |
| HSM2208 PGM expanders | 2 | 4 | 8 | 16 |
| Wireless keypads | 8 | 8 | 8 | 16 |
Compatibility note
- PowerSeries Neo is not compatible with legacy PowerSeries modules such as PK5500 and RF5132.
- If those parts are present on an existing account, plan for replacement with Neo-compatible keypads and receivers before migration.
Troubleshooting
Follow this sequence for faster root cause isolation on service calls.
1) Verify power profile
- Confirm transformer output and battery health.
- Compare expected standby load against installed accessories.
- Baseline current assumptions:
- Around 85 mA standby for base configuration
- Around 190 mA standby when alternate communication hardware is fitted
2) Validate bus integrity
- Inspect Corbus continuity at panel, mid-run, and end-of-line points.
- Check for voltage sag when keypads or expanders are active.
- Focus on branch runs serving HSM2108 and HSM2300 modules when bus trouble is intermittent.
3) Confirm enrollment and supervision
- Run module supervision checks after wiring changes.
- Confirm partition assignment and keypad visibility.
- Re-test zone fault restoration after expander recovery.
4) Confirm wireless and hardwired zone map
- Verify on-board 8 hardwired zones are correctly defined.
- Verify wireless zone count aligns with model capacity and receiver topology.
- Correct duplicate definitions before exit delay testing.
5) Confirm user credential behavior
- Validate user code creation/deletion in line with account policy.
- For enterprise sites, confirm expected code counts are supported (up to 1002).
Service note
Do not assume legacy PowerSeries keypad or receiver compatibility. PK5500 and RF5132 are not supported on Neo platforms.
