Before You Install or Replace One

  • Confirm exact model number on the keypad label matches the install manual.
  • Verify host panel family — Keybus PowerSeries, Neo Corbus, MAXSYS Combus, and IMPASSA wireless are not interchangeable.
  • Plan unique keypad address or wireless enrollment — duplicates cause bus collisions or offline devices.
  • Check partition assignment (global vs partition keypad) for multi-partition sites.
  • Include keypad current draw in panel AUX / Corbus / battery standby calculations.

FAQs

Which panels does this keypad work with?

See compatible-peripherals.md for the host panel table. Keypads are family-specific — PK5500 does not work on Neo Corbus, and WT5500 is IMPASSA-only.

Why is the keypad blank but the panel has power?

Usually bus wiring, wrong address, or AUX/Corbus undervoltage. Wireless keypads: check battery and enrollment.

Can I use this keypad for programming?

Full-message and touchscreen models typically support **[*, 8, installer code]** where the host panel allows. Fixed LED keypads have limited programming menus.

Can I move this keypad to another panel brand?

Only within the same DSC bus family after full re-address and reprogramming. Never move Keybus keypads to Neo Corbus without replacing the keypad model.
