Overview
The Blink Sync Module 2 is the Wi-Fi hub for most Blink camera systems — it connects cameras to your home network and the Blink app, supports local clip storage on USB flash drive, and manages system arming modes for supported devices.
The Sync Module is the network bridge between Blink cameras and your router. Without a healthy hub, cameras show offline even with fresh batteries. Local storage (USB on SM2, microSD on XR) can record clips on-site; Blink Subscription Plan adds cloud history and enhanced features depending on region.
Blink is app-first — arming modes, motion sensitivity, schedules, and user access are all configured in the Blink app. There is no dealer programming menu or keypad trouble codes.

What This Hub Does Well
The Sync Module keeps cameras online, routes motion clips to cloud or local storage, and exposes system arm/disarm for supported Blink devices.
Before You Service or Replace One
- Sync Module 2 vs XR — USB vs microSD storage; range differences.
- Wi-Fi changes — new router/SSID requires hub reconfiguration in app.
- Blink account — owner vs admin access for troubleshooting.

Typical install sequence
- Plug in Sync Module; add to Blink app; confirm blue LED.
- Add camera/doorbell in app before final mount (Blink recommendation).
- Mount hardware per template; route cables cleanly on wired SKUs.
